So here’s the thing.
I was going over our budget (something new we’re trying in 2015) and just overall thinking about stuff and I decided to make some changes with all the websites and whatnot that I own and maintain. Mainly, this one (kellybelly.net).
So I cancelled my old hosting account and moved the domain to an account on my reseller host. Because really… how often do I update anymore? I don’t need the big, empty server space that I was paying for each month but not using.
I did import all my old posts but I marked them all private. So they’re still here — I couldn’t bring myself to completely delete ten years of history — but they’re not for public viewing any longer (at least here, you can always try Google cache).
I was always worried about dead links – I don’t care anymore. I don’t care if my data is removed from the world wide web. I want it removed, actually, and am in the process of telling the Google to forget I ever posted anything online.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about privacy online, especially with a little guy that has no say on what is posted about him. And I don’t want all my business out there for everyone to read.
So here we are. Out with the old, in with the new.
